Rob Davidson

Commander Rob Davidson began his career with the Sheriff's Office in 1991. In his many years with the Sheriff's Office, Rob has worked in the Patrol, Detention, Support and Special Services Divisions. Rob spent 9 years as a detective investigating sex crimes, robberies and assaults and his final 4 years as a homicide detective. Rob also worked as an Internal Affairs investigator and understands the importance of maintaining the public's trust through high ethical standards and transparency. As a Captain, Rob oversaw the administrative functions of the Detention Services Division, the Sheriff's largest division. As a Commander Rob has oversight of Internal Affairs, the Academy and the Inspections and Audit Unit.

Rob is passionate about his involvement with the K-9 Unit and served 4 years as the Unit Captain; he remains involved with the K-9's as the Treasurer of the Ventura County Sheriff's Canine Foundation.

Rob received his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from CSU, Stanislaus and holds a Master's Degree in Leadership with an emphasis on Public Policy from the University of Southern California (Fight On!).

Rob lives in Ventura with his wife Terri, together they have three children and 2 dogs. They spend their free time travelling out of state to see their kids in college and can be found walking their dogs at the beach.
