Marty Rouse

Chief Deputy Marty Rouse is a 31-year member of the Sheriff’s Department. He has served as a Chief Deputy for one year and currently has oversight of the Support Services Bureau which includes; Professional Standards; in-service and recruit Training; the Business Office; Records; Human Resources; Recruiting; and Crime Analysis. Prior to his appointment to Chief Deputy, Marty served at the command level for over 10 years, supervising personnel in Professional Standards, Courts, and in East and West County Patrol. During his career, he has also served as Moorpark’s Chief of Police and the Commander of the Regional Training Center.


Marty received his Masters Degree in Public Administration and his Bachelors Degree in Administration of Justice from California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks. He is active in the “Cal-Lu” Community Leaders Association and various City of Moorpark events, along with coaching youth track and field.


Marty’s career highlights center around community involvement and serving as the incident commander on a variety of special events and natural disasters. He has always enjoyed the challenge of doing his part to bring “some level of order to a chaotic situation.” Marty served as the incident commander during “Operation Serenade-A Farwell to President Reagan,” and various presidential visits to the county, along with numerous fires, floods, and other events that have required incident management direction.
