Commander Glenn Sander has been a member of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department for 25 years. He is currently assigned to the West County Police Services Bureau, with responsibility for police services oversight in the contract cities of Fillmore and Ojai, along with the unincorporated areas adjacent to Oxnard, Ventura, and the Santa Clara, Ojai and Lockwood Valleys. Commander Sander also has oversight responsibility for the Sheriff’s Communications Center, the Office of Emergency Services, and the Sheriff’s Mounted Unit. Glenn most recently completed 2 ½ years of police management in the East County Police Services Bureau, with responsibility for the Moorpark contract and the unincorporated areas adjacent to Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley. Prior to that assignment, Glenn worked multiple assignments in both Detention Services and Support Services, including management of the Detention Services budget, facility manager of the Todd Road Jail, direction of the Inspection and Audits Unit, and Internal Affairs. Glenn also has worked in various police services assignments, including Patrol, Investigations, Crime Prevention and Community Policing, in the Sheriff’s contract cities of Thousand Oaks, Camarillo and Moorpark.
Commander Sander graduated magna cum laude from Principia College in Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, completing half of his undergraduate work at the University of Michigan, Michigan State University and UCLA. While at Principia College, Glenn lettered in varsity football, basketball and tennis. Glenn also completed a Juris Doctor degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Glenn lives in Camarillo with his wife and two children, and is an active participant in their many high school and college activities.
