On August 21, 2014, at approximately 2:45 PM, patrol deputies, the Special Enforcement /Gang Unit, and Detectives responded to a fight and possible stabbing that had just occurred in the 400 block of Hillcrest Drive in the City of Thousand Oaks.  Deputies ultimately found the victim, Johnny Lomeli, hiding in a garage and being treated by a friend.  Deputies saw the victim was bleeding from an apparent stab wound to his back as well as a laceration to his head.  Ventura County Fire Department and American Medical Response responded to the scene and transported Lomeli to Los Robles Hospital for his injuries. While at the hospital, it was discovered that Lomeli had suffered a stab wound to his back that caused internal injuries.  Lomeli's injuries were not life threatening.    


The investigation revealed the victim, Johnny Lomeli, is a documented Thousand Oaks gang member and the suspects, Eddie Martinez and Israel Bojorquez, are documented gang members from the City of Oxnard.  On August 21, 2014, at approximately 6:40 PM, with the assistance of the Sheriff's Gang Unit, the Special Enforcement Unit was able to locate and arrest Martinez as he was walking on Pleasant Valley Road in the City of Oxnard.  At approximately 7:40 PM, the Special Enforcement Unit also located and arrested Bojorquez at a residence in the 5200 Block of Cypress Drive in the City of Oxnard. 



Both Martinez and Bojorquez were booked into the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility for Penal Code sections 245(a) ' Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and 186.22(a) ' Street Terrorism Act with bail amounts ranging from $105,000 to $130,000.  Martinez was also arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor vandalism warrant.   


Eddie Martinez and Israel Bojorquez are scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on August 25, 2014, at 1:30 PM.
