Ventura County Sheriff's Deputies assigned to the Ojai Police Department responded to a call of a stabbing that had just occurred at Libbey Park. Deputies found (V) Tavia Johnson lying on the ground near the fountain with multiple lacerations on her body. (S) Chad Terry was also located nearby and was identified by witnesses as being responsible for assaulting Johnson with a knife. With the assistance of the Ventura County Fire Department and American Medical Response paramedics, Johnson was treated at the scene and then transported to the Ventura County Medical Center for further treatment of her wounds. Terry was placed under arrest for assault with a deadly weapon and booked at the jail with a $20,000 bail.
