On Saturday, September 27th, there will be a parade celebrating the 50th anniversary of the City of Thousand Oaks. The parade route will initiate on westbound Thousand Oaks Boulevard at Westlake Boulevard, continuing westbound to Erbes Road. The parade will begin at 9 a.m. and is scheduled to end at around noon.

Thousand Oaks Boulevard will be closed to all vehicular traffic except for those persons or vehicles involved in the parade itself. It will be necessary to close segments of Thousand Oaks Boulevard beginning at 6:30 in the morning. The following road closures will occur throughout the morning:

At 6:30 am  - Thousand Oaks Boulevard from Westlake Boulevard to Duesenberg Drive.

At 8:30 am  - Thousand Oaks Boulevard from Duesenberg Drive to Conejo School Road.

At 8:45 am -  Thousand Oaks Boulevard from Conejo School Road to Oak Lane.

There will be signs and barricades in place designating the road closures.

Two locations will eliminate access to Thousand Oaks Boulevard throughout the parade:

At Hampshire Road and Thousand Oaks Boulevard, no vehicular traffic in either direction will be allowed on Hampshire Road between Thousand Oaks Boulevard and the US 101.

Sunset Drive will also be closed at Thousand Oaks Boulevard.

Citizens will not be able to leave these areas in a vehicle during the parade. Only in an emergency will vehicles be allowed access under supervision by law enforcement. These closures will directly affect the residences and businesses on Sunset Drive and the residences on Los Robles Road and Royal Oaks Drive. Please plan ahead if you know you have a need to leave the area in a vehicle during the parade times. As soon as the last participants in the parade pass by the closures, the area will be re-opened to vehicle traffic.

Erbes Road between Thousand Oaks Boulevard and Hillcrest Drive will also be closed during this event. Erbes Road will be used to allow shuttle vehicles to stage for pick-up of the parade participants. There will be no traffic allowed southbound on Erbes Road. If a resident needs to leave on Erbes Road, they will do so at the direction of a law enforcement person working that area.

We appreciate your cooperation and patience during this event. Please enjoy the celebration.
