On October 31, 2014, at approximately 2:30 am, the Thousand Oaks Police Department, Ventura County Fire Department and AMR responded to Sunset Hills Boulevard east of Avenida Verano in reference to an injury traffic collision.


A Toyota sedan was traveling westbound on Sunset Hills Boulevard approaching Avenida Verano when it left the roadway, traveled up onto the center median, struck a large tree and stopped.  The Toyota contained a single occupant and no other vehicles were involved.  The driver of the Toyota sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.  His identity is pending notification of the next of kin. 


The collision is still under investigation by the Thousand Oaks Police Department's Traffic Bureau.  Anyone who might have witnessed the collision or is aware of anyone that might have been involved in the collision is asked to contact the Thousand Oaks Police Department at (805) 494-8271.
