Narrative:

On January 2, 2015, Ojai Patrol Deputies responded to the 2100 block of Valley Meadow in Oak View for a call of a suspicious subject. An alert and vigilant resident in the area saw a female walking with several large bags of property. The female subject dropped one of the bags and some prescription medication fell onto the ground. The resident thought this was suspicious and contacted the Sheriff's Office. Deputies responded and located the bags carried by the female subject. Upon inspection, the deputies found that the bags contained valuable property from a nearby residence. A short while later, the female subject seen by the resident was located and detained. The owner of the property was located and was found to be out of town and no one had permission to remove property from her house. The female subject seen carrying the bags of stolen property was identified as Andrea Barrack from Oak View CA. Barrack was arrested and booked on charges of burglary with a bail amount of $70,000. Barrack is also being held on a parole violation.

The Ventura County Sheriff's Office would wish to remind residents to ensure their homes are secured when they leave for any extended periods of time. It is also a good idea to communicate with your neighbors so they can keep a watchful eye out when you are away. Please report any suspicious behavior to the Sheriff's Office at (805) 654-9511.
