On 01/05/2015, Camarillo Police Department Deputies took a vandalism report at the Hillside Assembly of God Church.  SED Detectives reviewed surveillance footage and saw two suspects enter the church by crawling through an open window.  The suspects vandalized several rooms of the church by breaking items, clogging plumbing, and spray painting the walls and carpet.

The suspects forced opened a locked door into the main portion of the church.  They took items, which included keys and video games.  It appeared the suspects attempted to start a notebook tablet on fire outside the church.  There were also some papers inside the church that appeared to have been burned.  Church officials estimate the value of the damage at about $3,500.00.

SED conducted an investigation and quickly identified the suspects.  On 01/09/15, SED served a search warrant at one of the suspect's residences.  Evidence was located that linked the juveniles to the crime at the church.  Both suspects (juveniles) were arrested for violating Penal Code 594.3(b), felony vandalism to a church and Penal Code 459, commercial burglary. Both were lodged at the Juvenile Justice Center in Oxnard.
