On April 20, 2015, deputies assigned to the Moorpark Police Department and detectives with the Sheriff's East County Major Crimes Unit were investigating a stabbing that occurred in the 100 Block of First Street.  They located and arrested Saul Antonio Gonzalez for attempted murder.

The incident was initially reported to the police on April 20, 2015 at approximately 10:10 PM.  Deputies learned that a family disturbance occurred in the 100 Block of First Street and one person was stabbed multiple times.  The victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital and received emergency medical care.  He is expected to survive.  The suspect, Saul Antonio Gonzalez, was known to the victim and fled the area in a vehicle.

Gonzalez was located a few hours later in the City of Moorpark and taken into custody.  After Gonzalez was handcuffed, he became assaultive with deputies, resulting in him being arrested for an additional charge of battery on a peace officer.

Gonzalez is currently in custody at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility, Ventura with his bail set at $655,000.00 pending his arraignment in Superior Court on April 23, 2015.
