Detailed Information:

The Sheriff's Office of Emergency Services is hosting a Town Hall Meeting on Saturday, July 25; at the Camarillo Police Department, 3701 East Las Posas Road from 10:00 am to Noon.

This meeting will be an opportunity for the Public to view, comment and ask questions about the 2015 Update of the County's Multi-hazard Mitigation Plan.  Representatives from Sheriff's OES, Watershed Protection District, and the Contractor will be available to answer questions about the hazard mitigation process and plan.  Detailed Hazard Maps will be available for viewing.

When adopted by the Board of Supervisors, he Hazard Mitigation Plan provides a template for ensuring the future safety of developments, and actions that can be taken to prepare for, or prevent disastrous impacts to communities in Ventura County.

In addition to safeguarding our communities, the Hazard Mitigation Planning process provides an added benefit by allowing financial incentives in the form of flood insurance policy discounts for communities that exceed the minimum floodplain protection.  The Community Rating System (CRS) was established as a benefit for those communities that provide public information on reducing flood damage to properties and encourage a comprehensive approach to floodplain management.  Additional information is available at http://www.vcfloodinfo.com/.
