Narrative:

 

On December 8, 2015, at approximately 8:00 AM, the Camarillo Police Department was dispatched to a shooting threat made over social media against the campus of Adolfo Camarillo High School, in Camarillo.  Patrol deputies responded to the scene and were assisted in the investigation by the Camarillo Police Department's Community Resource Unit and Detective Bureau.  Detectives were able to quickly identify and determine the location of the juvenile suspect and an arrest was made in Port Hueneme. The juvenile, who was not a student of Adolfo Camarillo High School, admitted to sending a threat via social media and stated that it was not a credible threat but only a joke. The juvenile suspect was booked into the Juvenile Justice Center for making criminal threats.

 

The Camarillo Police Department and the Oxnard Union High School District take these types of threats very seriously.  These crimes are investigated using resources from federal, state, and local agencies. 

 

The Camarillo Police Department would like to encourage parents to monitor their children's use of both the internet and cellular phones.
