On 12/09/2015, Sheriff Narcotics Detectives concluded an investigation of a Simi Valley resident, Jose Melgoza, who was suspected of selling methamphetamine and heroin to customers in Ventura County. At 7:30 PM, detectives located Melgoza as he was leaving a business in the city of Moorpark. Melgoza was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance related to an arrest in the city of Moorpark. He was also found in possession of numerous grams of heroin ready for sale. Detectives searched Melgoza's vehicle and found a loaded semi-automatic handgun, 2 boxes of ammunition and numerous prescription drugs. 


Jose Melgoza's brother, Agustin Melgoza, arrived in the parking lot and was contacted by detectives. Agustin was subsequently arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance.


Detectives conducted a search of Melgoza's residence located in the 1400 block of Tierra Rejada in Simi Valley where they located about one pound of marijuana. While detectives where around Melgoza's residence, Parks, Martinez and Baake arrived. They were contacted and after a brief investigation they were arrested. Kristy Parks was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant for possession for sales of a controlled substance case related to an arrest by the Simi Valley Police Department, and Vanessa Martinez and Mathew Baake were arrested for possession of a controlled substance.


On 12-11-15, Melgoza was arraigned in Ventura County Superior Court for the following charges: Possession for sales of a controlled substance, person armed with a firearm during the commission of a felony, felon in possession of a firearm and a felon in possession of ammunition.  Melgoza is currently in custody in the Ventura County Jail with bail set at $135,000. His next court appearance is set for 12/15/2015.


The street value for the drugs found in Melgoza's possession was valued at about $3,000.


Parks' has a no bail hold and is scheduled to appear in court on 12/17/2015. Martinez are both out of custody with pending court dates.
