Narrative:

On 01/17/2016 at approximately 0216 hours, Ojai patrol deputies were dispatched to a 'Suspicious Circumstances' call at a residence located in the 700 block of Saddle Lane.  Upon arrival, they determined an unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked vehicle parked at the victim's residence.  The ignition key to the vehicle was left inside.  The suspect(s) stole the vehicle and drove it a short distance when it was driven into some bushes and became inoperable.  The suspect(s) then fled on foot.

At approximately 0249 hours, Ojai patrol deputies were dispatched to an 'Audible Business Alarm' located at a short distance from the above call in the 400 block of Bryant Circle.  Upon arrival, deputies discovered three separate businesses had their doors kicked in.  One of the businesses was burglarized.  It was discovered that this business is a handgun manufacturer and they carry an extensive line of gun parts and gun magazine/bullet loaders.

Responding deputies detained two juveniles who were on foot in the area.  It was subsequently determined that they were in possession of numerous gun magazines/bullet loaders that were stolen from one of the businesses that had been burglarized.  Evidence collected at both crime scenes tied both of the juveniles to the two crimes.  The juveniles being detained confessed to stealing the vehicle and burglarizing the business.  Both juveniles were arrested and booked at Ventura County Juvenile Hall.
