Sheriff's Captain Stephen Wade is retiring this week after nearly three years overseeing the City of Moorpark law enforcement contract, going on 37 years with the Sheriff's Office.  Steve's hard work and dedication have been woven into all aspects of the City.  The City of Moorpark continues to be ranked as one of the safest cities in the County.   Steve will be missed by the Sheriff's Office, Moorpark Police Department, and residents of the city.

City Manager Steve Kueny and the Moorpark City Council have selected Captain John Reilly as Steve's successor.

Captain Reilly is a 21-year veteran of the Sheriff's Office who holds a bachelor's degree in History from California State University at Northridge and a master's degree in Criminal Justice from American Military University.  John has a diverse law enforcement background in a variety of disciplines from the tactical operations to investigations.  He was previously the Administration Sergeant and Investigation Supervisor at the Moorpark station.  John's most recent experience includes supervising our county-wide patrol operations and acting as the Sheriff's Office official spokesperson.   John lives in Moorpark with his wife Kelly and their three children.  He is active in local youth sports and other groups.

Captain John Reilly will assume the responsibilities of Moorpark Chief of Police at the end of March.
