On 07/04/2016, at approximately 9:45 am, an unknown suspect stole a black Thule backpack containing an Apple MacBook Air laptop computer.  The stolen items were left unattended in the lobby sitting area of the Hi Ho restaurant in the City of Ojai.  This establishment is equipped with a video surveillance system which captured the suspect stealing the backpack.  The video surveillance footage shows the suspect, along with an adult female, three children, and another adult male, seated next to the backpack.  The video shows that at the conclusion of their meal, all the subjects got up to leave and the suspect picked up the backpack and exited the restaurant with the stolen property.  The Ventura County Sheriff's Office is requesting the public's assistance in identifying the suspect.
