On 07-14-2016, at approximately 1:43 pm, the victims arrived home to find a vehicle parked in their driveway that was unknown to them.  The victims' garage door was also open.  The victims entered their residence and found (S) Ricardo Gomez inside burglarizing their home.  One of the victims physically detained Gomez, while the other called 911 to report the incident.  Deputies and Detectives from the Moorpark Police Station arrived on scene and took Gomez into custody.  The investigation revealed that Gomez had entered the victims' residence through the open garage door.  Gomez had searched through several rooms within the residence and was in possession of several items belonging to the victims when he was arrested.  Deputies also located a small amount of narcotics in Gomez' pocket.  Gomez was arrested and booked into the Ventura County Jail for violations of PC 459 ' Burglary and PC 11377(a) ' Possession of a controlled substance.    


The Moorpark Police Department would like to remind members of the public that if you believe your home has been burglarized or you believe someone is inside your home illegally, please move to a safe location and immediately report the incident to law enforcement.
