Information about methamphetamine and heroin sales led to the arrest of Jose Ceja for narcotics sales related charges and to the arrest of Jesus Ceja for being under the influence of a controlled substance.


During this investigation, detectives received information Jose Ceja was selling methamphetamine and heroin in the Cities of Oxnard and Ventura.  Detectives conducted their investigation and on August 17, 2016 arrested Jose Ceja as he left his residence.  Jose Ceja was in possession of over 3 ounces of methamphetamine.  He was arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sale. 


Detectives obtained a search warrant for Jose Ceja's residence in the 3200 Block of Santa Clara Avenue in the Unincorporated area of Oxnard and served the search warrant later that same day.  Narcotics detectives searched Jose Ceja's residence and located 2 additional ounces of methamphetamine and a ounce of heroin.  Detectives also located a large sum of U.S. currency concealed inside the residence. 


The amount of methamphetamine seized would provide over 1400 doses of methamphetamine to a user and had a street value in excess of $14,000.00.  The amount of heroin seized would provide over 150 doses of heroin to a user and had a street value in excess of $1,500.00. During the service of the search warrant, Jesus Ceja was located on the property and was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance.


Jose Ceja was booked into the Ventura County Jail on charges of being in possession of controlled substances for sale and his bail was set at $250,000.00.  Jesus Ceja was booked into the Ventura County Jail charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance and was later cited and released. 


The West County Street Team is made up of Sheriff's Office narcotics detectives and the Oxnard Police Department narcotics detectives.  These detectives work cooperatively in the investigation of narcotics offenses occurring in the western portion of Ventura County.
