Narrative:

On 07/02/2016, a Moorpark resident hosted a birthday party for a young child at their residence.  There were numerous family and friends at the party, which included several young and teen aged children.  At the conclusion of the party, the Moorpark resident located a small camera recording device that was hidden in the restroom of the residence.  The camera was placed in a position to capture images of anyone that used the toilet.

On 07/03/2016, the Moorpark resident called and reported the incident to the Sheriff's Office. Moorpark Station Detectives began investigating the case and were ultimately able to positively identify fourteen different victims that were captured on the camera recording device, four of which were under 18 years of age.  The camera device surreptitiously captured video images of the victims in various stages of undress while they were in the restroom.

Detectives were able to positively identify the person that placed the camera recording device in the restroom as (S) Sergio Salgado. On 08/31/2016, at approximately 5:22 am, Salgado was contacted during a traffic stop in Moorpark and arrested for violations of PC 459 ' Burglary, PC 311.11(a) ' Possession of child pornography, and PC 647(j)(3) ' Use of a concealed camera to secretly record another.  Salgado was booked into the Pre-Trial Detention Facility in Ventura and his bail has been set at $50,000.00.
