On 10-18-2016, at approximately 8:09 am, Moorpark Patrol Deputies, Traffic Enforcement Deputies, and Detectives responded to reports of a pedestrian that was hit by a train at Moorpark Avenue, south of High Street.  Upon arrival, deputies found a deceased adult female that had been struck by the passing Amtrak California Surfliner passenger train. 


There were 61 passengers on the train and 5 crew members at the time of the incident and no other injuries were reported.  


All of the crossing arms, alarms, and warning equipment at the railroad track crossing on Moorpark Avenue appeared to be working properly at the time of this incident.  This incident is still under investigation and if you have any information please contact the Moorpark Police Station at 805-532-2700.
