Narrative:

On Saturday, December 3rd, 2016, the Ventura County Sheriff's Office is partnering with the Ventura County Sheriff's Foundation to host 'Shop with a Cop' for selected children residing in the areas patrolled by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office. On the day of the event 125 children nominated by deputies and local community programs will join Sheriff's deputies for this shopping experience. Each child will be provided with a $ 100.00 Target gift card and partnered with a deputy for this shopping experience. This is the fifth year the Ventura County Sheriff's Office has held 'Shop with a Cop.' This program allows children who may not otherwise have an opportunity to celebrate Christmas the chance to share this holiday with a partner from the Sheriff's Office. This program reinforces the positive relationships Ventura County law enforcement agencies share with our communities. This program is supported by contributions donated to the Ventura County Sheriff's Foundation.

Members of the media and public are encouraged to attend. Participants will meet outside of Camarillo Target at 9:00 am on the day of the event. Sheriff's deputies will be arriving shortly after by motorcade. All officers participating in this event are volunteering their personal time.
