On October 28, 2016, at approximately 0117 hours, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the 400 block of Walker Ave, Camarillo.  Upon arriving, deputies located (V) Stacey Guzman inside the residence suffering from significant life threatening injuries; however her husband (S) Jose Guzman had fled the scene.

During the investigation, detectives quickly determined Jose, was the sole suspect involved in Stacey's attack.  Jose had severely bludgeoned Stacey, before leaving in one of the family's vehicles.  Stacey was transported to the hospital for medical treatment, but succumbed to her injuries later that morning.
