On October 28, 2016, at approximately 0117 hours, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the 400 block of Walker Ave, Camarillo.  Upon arriving, deputies located (V) Stacey Guzman inside the residence suffering from significant life threatening injuries; however her husband (S) Jose Guzman had fled the scene.


During the investigation, detectives quickly determined Jose, was the sole suspect involved in Stacey's attack.  Jose had severely bludgeoned Stacey, before leaving in one of the family's vehicles.  Stacey was transported to the hospital for medical treatment, but succumbed to her injuries later that morning. 


A lengthy and intense investigation was conducted in an attempt to locate Jose both in and out of the country.  On 12/4/2016, Imperial County Sheriff's responded to a call for service where a deceased male was located on a ranch in the area of East Faucet Rd in Imperial County.  The Imperial County Sheriff ' Coroner's Office used fingerprint analysis to identify the decedent as Jose Guzman. Jose's cause of death was determined to be a suicide resulting from a self-inflicted gunshot.
