Narrative:

In Early December 2016, investigators assigned to the Sheriff's Gang Unit were conducting a follow-up investigation in the community of El Rio.  During this investigation, detectives met Reggie Dixon and his son, Jordan. While speaking with Reggie, it was clear that he was an honorable man and a pillar of the community.  Reggie routinely helps the youth of the community with guidance and acts as a father figure to many people.

During their contact, detectives learned that Reggie had been saving up money to purchase a tandem bicycle so he and Jordan could ride around the El Rio community.  Jordan is unable to ride on a bike alone due to a medical condition.  Jordan and Reggie had gone to a local bike store last year and test rode the bicycle.  Jordan loved the experience of riding on the bicycle.  Recently, the money that Reggie had been saving for nearly 2 years was stolen from inside his house.

Sheriff's Gang Unit detectives returned to the Headquarters Patrol Station and took up a collection from staff members to purchase the bicycle for Jordan.  Professional staff members, detectives, sworn personnel, and members of the Office of Emergency Services collected $1000 and purchased the bicycle.

On December 22nd, The Dixon family was invited to the Headquarters Patrol Station for a surprise gift.  The Professional Staff and Sheriff's Deputies of the Headquarters station were proud to present the bike to Jordan and the Dixon family.  Jordan immediately got on the bike with a huge smile on his face.

The theft is currently under investigation.  Anyone with details or information should contact Headquarters Station detectives.
