Narrative:

The Thousand Oaks Police Department would like to remind the community to be vigilant in securing their personal property. This includes removing valuables from your vehicle or putting it a location that is out of sight. Remember the phrase 'Lock it, hide it, keep it.' This simple phrase may keep you from becoming a victim.

 

The Thousand Oaks Police Department would like to offer the following crime prevention tips:

 

  • Lock your vehicle.
  • Do not leave valuables such as purses or wallets, cell phones, computers, or purchased items in your vehicle or in plain view. 
  • Consider concealing valuables in your trunk prior to arriving at a destination, such as a hiking trail or shopping center.
  • Be aware of your surroundings as thieves may be watching you.
