On Thursday night, April 6th, 2017, at approximately 2230 hours, Sheriff's Dispatch received a 911 call from a residence in the 2200 block of Marco Drive. Deputies responded to the residence and upon their arrival, they contacted two adult male subjects. Both subjects had injuries requiring medical assistance.

One of the male subjects, (D) Gilbert Aceves, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at Los Robles Hospital in Thousand Oaks. Initial investigation revealed Gilbert's injuries appear consistent with stab wounds. The second male subject, (P) Luis Aceves, was initially transported to St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo and later transferred to Los Robles Hospital for treatment. After receiving medical care, Luis was later discharged from Los Robles Hospital in the early afternoon.

Sheriff's Homicide Investigators are currently investigating the circumstances which led to Gilbert's death. There are no outstanding suspects and investigators have determined there is no threat to the community in relation to this incident. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
