Narrative:

On 04/25/2017, Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff's West County Street Narcotics Unit, assisted by the Ventura County Sheriff Narcotic Interdiction Team, executed a search warrant in the 1500 block of Daphne Avenue in the City of Ventura after seizing a quarter pound of cocaine from an individual who was surveilled away from that residence.

Detectives detained the home owner, Chuck Daft, at the residence while executing the search warrant. A search of Daft's residence by Detectives led to the seizure of an additional quantity of cocaine, evidence of cocaine sales, and a sum of U.S. Currency believed to be proceeds of cocaine sales. Additionally, an extremely large quantity of firearms and ammunition was seized from the residence. Approximately 61 handguns and 14 rifles, shotguns and assault type weapons of various calibers were removed from the house and booked as evidence. Additional evidence indicated Daft is a licensed firearms dealer.

Daft was booked at the Ventura County Main Jail on narcotic violations. He posted bail of $50,000 and is currently awaiting arraignment on his current charges.

The West County Street Narcotics Team is comprised of narcotic detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office and the Oxnard Police Department.
