On April 22, 2017, at about 6:30 p.m. a Ventura County Sheriff's Office Deputy stopped the driver of a BMW in the area of Rose Ave and Ives Ave, in the City of Oxnard.  The Deputy stopped the vehicle for a traffic violation.  The Deputy was assisted by an Oxnard Police Department Officer.  The Deputy contacted the driver of the vehicle, Daniel Sanchez.  Sanchez had an expired license.  A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of 40 pounds of methamphetamine and over $25,000 in cash.  Sanchez was booked into the Ventura County Jail for possession for sale of methamphetamine. 


The potential street value of the seized methamphetamine was $1,816,000. The seized methamphetamine would have yielded over 150,000 individual doses.
