Narrative:

On Saturday April 30, 2017, the Ventura County Sheriff's Office Ojai Valley Station deployed 4 deputies into the field for the purpose of conducting probation / parole sweeps in the unincorporated area of the Ojai Valley.  Patrol deputies assigned to the Ojai Valley Station wanted to take a proactive approach and focus the searches primarily on drug users and thieves.  This operation was funded by a California State grant for supervising post-release and serious habitual offenders, due to state prison realignment.

The objective of the operation was to take a zero-tolerance approach to enforcing the individuals probation / parole terms as outlined by the court.  At approximately 8 AM, Sheriff's Deputies began knocking on doors of the 4 targeted residences.  The residential searches included the areas of Mira Monte, Oak View and Meiners Oaks.

The operation netted 12 arrests, for charges that included the following: Under the influence of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of narcotics (heroin), and warrants.

Subjects were either given a citation and released, booked into the Ventura County Jail, or had warrant declarations submitted for their offenses.
