On 8/1/17, deputies from the Camarillo Traffic Unit and Patrol Division responded to a single vehicle roll over traffic collision at Beardsley Road west of Calle De Debesa. When units arrived on scene, they learned the driver, Stephen Bravo, had fled the scene.  A female passenger was located, treated at the scene, and transported to a local hospital for her injuries.


As a perimeter was being set up, it was discovered the vehicle involved in the collision was reported stolen out of the City of Oxnard. Stephen Bravo was seen a short distance away on the Sterling Hills golf course and fled from deputies. Through a coordinated effort with Detectives, Special Enforcement Detail, Patrol, the Community Resource Unit, the Sheriff's Air Unit, and the Traffic Unit, Stephen Bravo was located and arrested. The investigation and identification of the driver was assisted by several witnesses.


The female passenger was treated at the hospital and released. Bravo was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, DUI causing injuries, hit and run causing injuries, driving on a suspended driver's license, and resisting arrest.
