Narrative:

On July 9, 2017, a residential burglary occurred in the 1200 block of Dover Avenue in Thousand Oaks.  Among the items taken were an AR-15 Assault Rifle, a GoPro Camera and several pieces of jewelry. Surveillance footage of the burglary showed a female suspect knock on the front door of the residence.  When the door was not answered, two additional male suspects went to the rear of the residence and entered through the unlocked sliding glass door.  The suspects left with the assault rifle and a white pillow case full of property. A witness saw the suspects leaving in a white Buick Lacrosse and recorded the license plate number of the vehicle as it fled at a high rate of speed.

A three week investigation conducted by the Thousand Oaks Police Department led to the arrest of Latasha Rougely.  Rougely was not the registered owner of the Buick.  A search warrant conducted on the Buick and Rougely's residence revealed the stolen GoPro Camera and the pillow case with the jewelry inside.  The assault rifle remains outstanding.

'Knock-knock' burglaries continue to be an on-going nuisance throughout Southern California. The Thousand Oaks Police Department wants to remind residents to lock their houses and secure firearms inside of safes.  If someone knocks on your front door while you are home and that person is unknown to you, verbally respond to the person without opening your door so they know someone is home.
