Narrative:

On August 24, 2017, detectives with the City of Thousand Oaks - East County Narcotic Unit and the Ventura County Combined Agency Team concluded a narcotics investigation with the arrest of Monte Osborn and Eddie Moreno.

 

Detectives were conducting an investigation reference the flow of methamphetamine being distributed into various communities throughout the Conejo Valley. Detectives identified Osborn and Moreno as being involved in this investigation and followed them as they came into Ventura County. Osborn and Moreno were travelling West on the 118 Freeway toward the cities of Moorpark and Thousand Oaks. Detectives requested the assistance of the California Highway Patrol who initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle.

 

During the investigation, CHP officers searched Osborn and Moreno's vehicle and located over 17 pounds of methamphetamine. Two sets of nunchakus were also located inside the vehicle. Both Osborn and Moreno were arrested for possession for sales of a controlled substance and transportation of a controlled substance. This quantity of methamphetamine has a potential street value of over $600,000.

 

Both suspects were booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility pending their appearance in court. Both are scheduled to appear in court on 8/28/2017, at 1:30PM.
