Narrative:

     Investigators with the Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail located a stolen commercial truck in the City of Camarillo.  A male and a female subject were seen going in and out of the stolen vehicle.  The male and female subject then entered a different vehicle that was occupied by three additional subjects' and all five subjects' left the area.  Camarillo Patrol Deputies and the Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at Carmen Drive and Ponderosa Drive.  A total of five people were arrested for various charges.

 

     On 8/23/17, Camarillo patrol deputies responded to the business located in the 4600 block of Adolfo Road in Camarillo reference a reported stolen vehicle. During the initial investigation, Camarillo Patrol deputies learned a suspect identified as Nathan Scheibelhut, had failed to return the vehicle to the business and it was reported as being stolen.

 

     On 08/26/17, investigators assigned to the Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail located the stolen vehicle as it was parked in a residential area of Camarillo.   Investigators also observed several people enter and exit the stolen vehicle as it was parked.  At one point, several subjects that had been observed near the stolen vehicle drove out of the area in another vehicle.  Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail investigators and Camarillo Patrol deputies conducted a traffic stop on that vehicle and discovered it was occupied by five people. One of the occupants was identified as the suspect, Nathan Scheibelhut.

 

     During the investigation following the traffic stop, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and ammunition was located inside the vehicle. It was also confirmed that these people were associated with the stolen vehicle.  All five subjects were arrested for various charges and booked at the Ventura County Main Jail, pending future court dates.
