Sheriff's Detectives arrested Jason Mathers for attempted murder of his former supervisor.

On 09/21/17, at about 2:20 P.M., Camarillo patrol deputies received a call of a stabbing that occurred outside Pleasant Valley Hospital, in Camarillo.  The caller reported that a manager from the construction site at the hospital had been stabbed by a former construction site employee.

The investigation revealed that a former employee of the construction site, Jason Mathers, returned to the location after being fired several weeks prior.  Mathers sought out one of his old supervisors and attacked him with a knife.  Mathers fled the area after stabbing the victim.  The stabbing victim was taken into the Emergency Room by coworkers.  The incident occurred about 100 yards from the entrance to the Emergency Room of Pleasant Valley Hospital.

Detectives from the Camarillo Police Department, Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail (SED), and Sheriff's Major Crimes immediately began searching for Mathers.  At about 9:30 p.m. he was located at a location in Oxnard and was arrested without incident.  Detectives served a search warrant on Mathers' residence after he was arrested.

Mathers was arrested for Penal Code Section 664/187 (Attempted Murder).  He was booked into the Ventura County Main Jail with a bail of $1,000,000.00.
