On 01/11/2018, Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff's West County Narcotic's Team concluded a two month narcotic investigation into Ventura resident, Karl Brooks, who was involved in the sales of illegal narcotics to residents of Ventura County.

Detectives detained and arrested Brooks on a traffic stop in the City of Ventura just before executing a search warrant at his residence. The California National Guard's Counter Drug Task Force assisted with the investigation.

During a search of Brooks' residence, Detectives located approximately a half pound of methamphetamine packaged for sale, narcotics paraphernalia indicative of narcotics sales and a large amount of currency deemed to be proceeds of illegal narcotic sales.

Brooks was booked at the Ventura County Main Jail for numerous narcotic violations. His bail is set at $70,000 and he remains in-custody pending bail or arraignment which is scheduled for 01/16/18 in courtroom 14.

The West County Narcotic's Team is comprised of Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, the Oxnard Police Department, and the Port Hueneme Police Department.
