Recently, members of the Sheriff's Gang Unit have been working in cooperation with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation monitoring individuals on parole and/or involved with the Post Release Offender Supervision (PROS) program.

On 1/16/18, members of the Sheriff's Gang Unit observed Collin Potter, a known gang member, driving a vehicle in the community of Saticoy. Potter is currently being monitored as part of the Post Release Offender Supervision program and was wanted for a violation of felony probation.

Deputies attempted to contact Potter by initiating a traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle. Potter failed to stop and a short vehicle pursuit ensued through the residential neighborhoods of East Ventura. During the pursuit, Potter's vehicle collided with an unoccupied parked vehicle. Soon after colliding with the parked vehicle, Potter lost control of his vehicle and struck a brick wall near Telephone Road and Gardner Avenue.

Potter fled on foot and as deputies chased him, he was seen discarding a large quantity of narcotics. After a brief foot pursuit, Potter was apprehended by deputies and arrested for vehicle evading, hit and run driving, resisting arrest, unlicensed driving, various narcotics charges and the violation of felony probation.
