At about 5:38 p.m. on June, 2, 2012, the Thousand Oaks Police Department received a 911 call regarding a robbery in progress at a local CVS Pharmacy. The caller advised that the suspect was armed with a weapon as he demanded prescription medication. Fearing for their safety, the employees submitted to the suspect's demands and provided him the medication.
Nearby patrol officers responded to the scene and captured the suspect, Trey Weber, as he exited the store. Weber was in possession of a knife that was later identified as the weapon used in the crime. He was also still in possession of the stolen medication.
Weber was arrested for one felony count of robbery. He was booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility on $500,000.00 bail. He is scheduled for arraignment in Ventura County Superior Court on Tuesday, June 5, 2012.
In addition to this crime, there was a similar unsuccessful attempted robbery that occurred earlier today at a Rite Aid Pharmacy in the City of Ventura. The Thousand Oaks Police Department and the Ventura Police Department are working together to investigate whether Weber may also be responsible for that crime.
Ventura County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 reward for information, which leads to the arrest and criminal complaint against the person(s) responsible for these types of crimes. The caller may remain anonymous. The call is not recorded. Call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
