In an effort to become more accessible to residents served by the Thousand Oaks Police Department, Police Chief Randy Pentis initiated a new Community Outreach Program.  Taking place monthly during 2012, this program brings the Thousand Oaks Police Department directly to various neighborhoods throughout the City.

Residents and local business owners will have the opportunity to meet Chief Pentis in-person and ask questions about the department.  Each event will include the mobile command post staffed with that areas on-duty patrol deputy, Volunteers in Policing (VIPs), a variety of police personnel and services, and, when available, a K-9 unit.

'I want the public to know the deputies responding to service calls in their area.  Community Outreach meetings give residents the opportunity to discuss problems face-to-face with their Police Department deputies.' explained Pentis.
