The Ventura County Sheriff's Office is teaming up with Special Olympics of Ventura County in presenting a Tip-A-Cop event at the Woodranch BBQ & Grill in Camarillo on Wednesday, July 25, between 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.  Proceeds benefit Ventura County Special Olympics.  The public is invited to participate in this worthwhile event.  There will be police vehicle displays, free giveaways for kids, McGruff the Crime Dog, and the Sheriff's K-9's.


Special Olympics Ventura County offers training and competition opportunities in 10 different year-round sports at over 20 different training sites throughout Ventura County.  The Ventura County program not only provides people with intellectual disabilities with physical fitness and athletic competition, but also social interaction and community involvement.


Tip-A-Cop events are one of the main fundraisers for the Law Enforcement Torch Run, which is one of the largest fundraising arms of Special Olympics Southern California.  All tips are tax-deductible at the Tip-A-Cop event.
