On 9/25/2012, the Sheriff's Office East County Narcotics Team received information through a Ventura County Crime Stoppers tip regarding a subject who was selling illegal drugs in the Newbury Park area. Detectives conducted an investigation and arrested Cody Fierro as he left a residence in the 1200 block of Ramona Drive in Newbury Park. He was found in possession of a significant amount of heroin and evidence he was involved in drugs sales.


Detectives conducted a probation search at the residence they saw Fierro leaving prior to his arrest. At the residence, detectives contacted Nicolas Preston who was on active probation and found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. During a search of Preston's bedroom, detectives located additional heroin. Preston was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. Fierro and Preston were booked at the Sheriff's Office East County Jail pending bail or arraignment.
