The Camarillo Police Department has been receiving complaints about thefts of political signs occurring over the last few weeks. With the end of the election just a few weeks away, we would like to remind all citizens that the theft of political signs is criminal and if caught you can be prosecuted. If you observe someone stealing a political sign, call 654-9511 to report the theft. Camarillo Municipal Code 17.04.100 permits temporary signs in residential zones up to four times a year, for a period not to exceed (30) days. Additionally, the sign(s) must be removed within (5) days of the conclusion of any event or activity for which it advertises.
