Felony Warrant Suspect Arrested in El Rio with Assistance from Sheriff's K-9

On 11/13/12, at 09:50 am, deputies from the Sheriff's Office Headquarters Station went to a residence located in the 400 block of Salem Avenue in the community of El Rio to serve a felony warrant on Mario Delgado.  Delgado ran from the residence as the deputies arrived.  A search of the immediate area was conducted, which included the assistance of numerous deputies and two Sheriff's Office K-9 units. Delgado was located about forty (40) minutes later hiding inside a nearby residence and was taken into custody.  Delgado was transported to the hospital for minor injuries he received while he was taken into custody by the Sheriff's Office K-9 unit. The search of the area caused a lockdown of a nearby elementary school, Rio Plaza School.  The search did not affect school personnel or students.
