Ojai Deputies Investigating Traffic Collision that Caused Serious Injuries

Narrative:

On March 31, 2013, at approximately 1050 hours, deputies from the Ojai Patrol Station responded to the area of N. Ventura Avenue and Villanova Rd for an injury traffic collision. 

 

The investigation revealed that Melanie Hall-Mounsey of Oak View was driving southbound on Ventura Ave with her two small children in the car.  According to witnesses, she veered into the northbound lanes of travel and collided with a vehicle driven by Larry Manchel, of Meiners Oaks.  All lanes of traffic were shut down while sheriff deputies, paramedics and the Ventura County Fire Department attended to the scene and victims.  The driver's level of impairment, if any, is not known at this time. 

 

Hall-Mounsey, her children, and Manchel all sustained injuries and were transported to Ventura County Medical Center.  Hall-Mounsey and one of her children were admitted with serious injuries.  The other child and Manchel were listed as stable.  Investigators from the Thousand Oaks Police Department assisted with the investigation.  Anyone with any information is encouraged to call the Thousand Oaks Traffic Bureau at (805) 494-8271.
