On April 12, 2013 at about 5:21 PM, Deputies from the Moorpark Police Department responded to a head on traffic collision involving three vehicles on Arroyo Dr. east of Collins Dr. in the City of Moorpark. Jayson Jones was driving his car eastbound on Arroyo Dr. with Mary Forrest in the front passenger seat. Angel Esquivel was driving his semi truck & trailer westbound on Arroyo Dr. Maria Raya was driving her car westbound on Arroyo Dr. behind Angel Esquivel's truck with her daughter Alexandra Raya in the front passenger seat.


For unknown reasons, Jayson Jones' car crossed into oncoming traffic and collided first into Angel Esquivel's trailer then with Maria Raya's car. Jayson Jones' car rolled onto the passenger side and came to a rest on the north shoulder of Arroyo Dr. Maria Raya's car came to a stop in the eastbound lane of Arroyo Dr. Jayson Jones immediately fled the collision scene on foot. Mary Forrest, Maria Raya and Alexandra Raya were transported by ambulance to Los Robles Hospital with moderate injuries. Angel Esquivel was not injured.


An extensive search of the area was done for Jayson Jones with negative results at this time. Jayson Jones is being sought for questioning in this traffic collision.


The cause of this collision is still under investigation.
