The Thousand Oaks Police Department strives to uphold our core mission in protecting the community. One way for us to communicate is through informational forums. These forums allow the police department to focus on particular issues and provide education to the citizens on ways to protect themselves.

In furtherance of our commitment to the community, the Thousand Oaks Police Department in collaboration with other community partners will be presenting a free women's health and safety forum.  The forum will take place on the campus of California Lutheran University in the Lundring Events Center, on September 28, 2013, from 9:30 am until 3:00 pm.

There will be a number of dynamic speakers including; Maureen Shea 'Million Dollar Baby', a professional boxer, Robert Ferguson, a fitness and nutrition expert and Hannah Grossman M.D., Chief Medical Officer among others who will educate and empower young women to take charge of their overall health and personal safety.

The focus of this forum will include ways to raise awareness and minimize the risk of date related violence, sexual assault, as well as maintaining healthy relationships.  Additionally, information will be provided to women on ways to improve self-esteem, nutrition and overall health.

This event will provide a continental breakfast and lunch to the attendees. Additionally, there will be a number of resource tables hosted by community organizations that will be available to provide educational materials and resources.
