On 8/23/13, Sean Torbert of Thousand Oaks was arrested after a month long investigation for committing numerous residential and commercial burglaries in the Ventura County, Los Angeles County and Santa Barbara County areas.
Over the past several months, there was an increase in residential burglaries in the Thousand Oaks and Newbury Park areas. Members of the Thousand Oaks Police Investigations Unit and Special Enforcement Unit conducted an investigation on Sean Torbert after evidence linked him to the crimes.
Working in collaboration with Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (Lost Hills) and Santa Barbara County Sheriff, Sean Torbert was linked to numerous burglaries in all three counties. He was subsequently arrested in the Los Angeles County area on 8/23/13.
Further investigation is being done on Torbert's possible connection to other burglaries in the three counties. We believe Torbert may have encountered residents inside or near their homes during un-reported attempted burglaries. We ask anyone with information or who may have come into contact with Torbert to contact Detective Mike McConville with the Thousand Oaks Police Investigations Unit at (805) 494-8219.
