On December 21, 2013, at 9:00 am, members of the Camarillo Police Department will respond to the Camarillo Target for their second annual 'Shop with a Cop.'

This year, the names of 15 deserving children were provided to the Camarillo Police Department's Community Resource Unit for this experience. During the event each child will be provided with a $100.00 gift card from Target and they will be partnered with their own Sheriff's deputy to search the aisles of Target for presents for themselves and family members.

During the event, the children will have to the opportunity to take pictures with Santa Claus and his elf, who will be arriving in the Sheriff's SWAT Bearcat, meet McGruff the crime fighting dog, and become an honorary deputy for a couple of hours.

The gift cards this year were provided by the Ventura County Sheriff's Foundation. Through this event and the Ventura County Sheriff's Toy Drive, the Sheriff's Office is hoping to bring a special Christmas to as many children in Ventura County as possible.

Thank You to the Ventura County Sheriff's Foundation, Camarillo Target and the Deputies and volunteers from the Camarillo Police Department, who are volunteering their time for this event.

The public is encouraged to come to this event and meet Santa and his helper. We hope to see you there.
