On 12/20/13, Deputies from the Moorpark Police Station responded to an injury traffic collision involving a juvenile on a Razor scooter and a tractor-trailer at the intersection of Moorpark Avenue and Second Street. A male juvenile had started to ride his scooter eastbound in the crosswalk at the intersection when he was struck by an unidentified tractor-trailer traveling southbound on Moorpark Avenue.


The tractor-trailer continued southbound on Moorpark Avenue and left the area. Fire Department and Ambulance personnel arrived on scene and treated the juvenile.  The juvenile was transported to Los Robles Hospital for serious injuries to his right leg.  The Juvenile's parents were notified and responded to the hospital.


At this time in the investigation, the Moorpark Police Department has no information on the tractor-trailer and it is unknown if the driver had any knowledge of this collision.  Anyone who may have been in the area and/or witnessed this collision is encouraged to contact Senior Deputy Stoyko at the Moorpark Police Station.
