Narrative:

A home invasion robbery occurred around 2 pm today in the 800 block of Cayo Grande Court in Newbury Park.  A male juvenile, armed with a handgun, wearing a mask, forced his way into the victim's house looking for money.

At some point during the robbery the victims were able to disarm the suspect and detain him until deputies arrived.  One of the victim's was able to run out of the house to a neighbor's house for help.

The homeowner was not home at the time of the incident but his 67 year old father, 15 year old daughter, and an adult male friend visiting the house during the time of the incident, were home.

Detectives are investigating a possible connection between the victims and the suspect.

Although no one was hurt during this incident the Sheriff's Office would like to remind the community that they should not necessarily put themselves in harm's way if at all possible.
