Volunteers In Policing (V.I.P.) -
The concept for the V.I.P. program is to train volunteers to perform the routine tasks normally performed by deputies. Some of these duties include vacation house checks, extra patrols, traffic control, report writing, and parking citations. Police Resource Center -
Operated solely by members of the V.I.P. program and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (R.S.V.P.), the Resource Center offers the community information and direction in resolving concerns facing the community. Contact Thousand Oaks Prevention at (805) 371-8398 for additional information.
Citizens Academy- This twelve-week course is designed to give citizens an overview of the Police Department's organizational and operational procedures.
